In response to the various portals opening across the town of Metro City, Kansas, being dubbed 'Otherworlders' there are those in government pushing for a "Otherworlder Registration Act" to register all otherworlders in a government database to learn more about them. Where they came from. Who they are. And what abilities they may possess and to asset threats to the city.
Opponents to this bill cite that it is an immense invasion to their privacy and rights as people while others claim they should have no rights as beings from other worlds who don't belong here. Open debate has swept the nation over this law and otherworlders are in return for their cooperation being offered with finical aid, housing, medical benefits, and a program to assist them to return to their home if they so choose. While opponents say this is a bribe to basically stomp all over their rights for aid we should already be assisting them with.
