The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Hi guys. Since I made a thread about video games I thought I'd make one about movies. Talk about anything movie related here. What was the last movie you saw?

The last two movies I've seen was "Alien Romulus" and "Borderlands." I'll give you a brief review of each.

Alien Romulus
This is a terrible movie. It does nothing to make you care about the characters or their motivations. They're just fodder for the aliens which are barely in the movie. They borrow elements from other Alien movies, but they don't work and just make you wish you were watching those movies instead. The whole third act with the final alien boss was weird with no explanation and looked like something out of Alien Resurrection.

Borderlands
A fun movie. The characters were memorable, the story was easier to follow (despite never having played any of the games) and the action was good. There were some bits where I was like "Huh?" but overall I had more fun with this movie than the former.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Another fun time at the movies. I really liked Winona, Jenna, and Michael Keaton in this. The film gets crazy real quick and it's so over the top with its insanity that it's straight out hilarious. It does kinda recite some old notes from the first one, but the best thing about it in my mind is that it isn't trying to be better than the first one. It's just trying to be a fun movie and it excels at it. And it even leaves it off to where there could be another one. All in all I loved it.
