Bounding, bounding... She sprang and sprinted on her powerful legs, each stride carrying her like the wind. Somewhere on the outskirts of Metro City, the sleek creature bolted from the sweeping lights of the police helicopter. She tucked and rolled, letting the momentum carry her before redirecting towards a row of bushes. She pulled her large, floppy ears close to her, the foliage sliding off of the thick, cream colored fluff. She steadied her breathing, running a paw through the fluffy crest on her brow.
The spotlight swept over the area, seeing nothing but a clump of bushes next to the road. Slowly, the helicopter turned then pitched forward, heading down the road and away from Metro City to continue its search. She had evaded the officers on foot and in their cars, and she was confident that they'd not pick up her trail. She listened as the chopper grew quieter, quieter, quieter... quiet. With a small squeak of satisfaction, Willow emerged from the bushes. She dusted a few leaves off of her body, then flourished her ears like a long coat or cape, the last few bits of debris falling from her fur.
Willow stood on the sidewalk, illuminated by a streetlight. She was on the edge of a suburb, reminding her a bit of the small town of her home region- her home world. From what she had gathered, Willow travelled to somewhere so different, it was hard to tell if she'd ever make it back. She felt a pang in her chest, missing her friend, her trainer, Eleanor... She let out a small whine, looking up at the moon. It was good to see she'd wound up somewhere that still had one, though a cloud had started to roll in front of it. Willow turned her head, hearing something.

What she heard was the engines of a motorcycle made by Harley Davidson. The color of the sky as Ayanna liked it as she drove down the streets. Heart still racing from the encounter with one Jean Vilain. And now she was at his mercy due to her own reckless behavior. If only that bullet never hit that man's skull. If only she had restrained herself. Then she would still have control over the human half of her soul.
As Ayanna came to a stop her blue eyes caught wind of something over yonder. Something that looked like some kind of animal. Ayanna climbed off the bike and put her blue helmet down for a second to go over to the creature. A smile on her face and she moved slowly as to not frighten the animal.
"Hey there, girl. Are you lost? It's okay. I won't hurt you."

"Ny? Punny?"
Willow regarded the woman with suspicion. She'd not been here long, and she'd spent much of that time running from people who had showed up before she had even gotten her bearings. Since she got here, she had seen no other Pokémon, and this person was approaching her in a way Willow hadn't really seen someone greet even the tamest of wild Pokémon.
"Lop."
Willow had taken a defensive stance without even realizing it, slowly lowering her guard and making a conscious effort to relax. This woman wasn't posing her any threat right now. Willow's nose twitched a bit as she sniffed the air. Something had her on edge, and she couldn't tell what, but it wasn't this person.

Ayanna wasn't familiar with the language in which this creature was speaking. It wasn't like any other animal or pet that Ayanna knew about in the world. It made her wonder if the animal was either of supernatural origin or otherworldly origin. Either way Ayanna saw no reason to fear or worry about it. Apart from the defensive stance it took. Ayanna understood that though as she was just a stranger to the creature.
"Don't worry. I won't hurt you. Promise. Can you understand me? Do you have an owner?"
Ayanna didn't see a collar on it anywhere or a tag. But if it was supernatural or otherworldly then it probably wouldn't have one. She wondered who would've left it behind like this. Ayanna continued to hold out a hand in peace in hope that the animal would come towards her.

Willow took another step forward. She didn't fully trust this person, and she also figured it was a matter of time before the people sweeping the area for her would show up again. However, it wasn't like this person was to blame for her hardships, probably the first friendly face she'd met since she got here. Slowly, Willow took a few steps towards the woman. She was still hesitant, still wary, but she wanted to trust her.
With a low growl, the black car slowed down. It was coming from Metro City, out to the city limits. Ayanna and Willow's shadows stretched far behind them as the car stopped, both of them caught in its headlights. The engine purred, the silhouettes of a driver and a single passenger in the back seat visible to them.

Ayanna could tell she was slowly earning the creature's trust. Ayanna always wanted to have a pet of some kind. A dog or a cat, but father always said no. As she watched the creature slowly move forward while still hesitant. Ayanna would hear the roar of a car engine nearby. She looked up from where the creature was standing and shielded her eyes from the headlights now staring her in the face.
She couldn't make out who was in the driver's seat or the backseat for that matter, but it seemed more than a little suspicious they would stop here of all places when it was just her and a small animal. Ayanna placed her hands on her hips and waited for the driver to reveal themselves. Ready to draw her pistol and fire if they proved hostile.

The driver got out of the car. He was a short man, but broad and thick. His black hair looked thin, and his sallow skin was rough and calloused. With a hand the size of a frying pan, he rubbed the dark bags under his beady, yellow eyes, and his broad, flat nose flared as he sniffed the air and sharply exhaled. He quickly moved to the other side of the car, opening the door for the passenger.
"Thank you, Norton."
The clouds covered the moon as he stepped from the vehicle, wearing a black suit so dark it was hard to tell where any shadows fell on it. He was leaner than Norton, taller, his own hair was brown, full and parted on one side. He was pale, but had a vigor to him, and his features were sharp. Notably, he had a gold ring on his right hand, and a thin smile that bore no warmth.
"M'pleasure, Boss."
The man walked forward, his brute of a bodyguard falling in line behind him. There was an ill feeling to the two of them, a lack of pleasantness, like the air had grown heavier and fouler as soon as the tall man had set one foot outside his vehicle.
"Ma'am, this creature is an otherworlder. Norton and I have the authority to deal with it. I assure you, it would be of the utmost convenience to myself, Norton, and to you, if you were to return to the city and not dwell on this."
Willow's legs bent, her whole body tensing as her ears raised slightly. She brought her arms up once more, adopting that defensive stance from earlier. There was no hesitation, though, no chance of her showing these men the hopeful trust she had showed Ayanna. Willow could tell that this man meant the greatest, most dire peril the Pokémon had faced in her entire life. Strangely, she positioned herself between Ayanna and the men, despite their interest being with Willow and not her.
"Punnyyyyy..."
"Cute."

Ayanna sized the men up. They were no one she immediately recognized. Neither as familiar nor a figure head. Yet they were claiming to have authority over the creature she was trying to befriend. And judging by the creature's reaction to the two it didn't seem like they were doing a good job at it. Ayanna folded her arms before her chest and looked between the two.
"You get more flies with honey than with vinegar. Maybe if you were nicer it wouldn't be ready to smack the taste out of your mouth right now."
Ayanna held back a snicker. She didn't want her recklessness to lead to another mistake. Another life loss. But she wasn't about to leave this creature alone with these two goons.
"Sorry, but I'm not going anywhere. Unless you have some ID or a badge to show me, I'm helping this creature. Otherworlder or not. Just because she comes from another world doesn't give you the right to put her in a cage."
