Post by Byron Annatar on Aug 20, 2024 7:47:21 GMT -6
Name: Mairon
Alias: Mr. Annatar, Byron Annatar, Lord of Gifts, Lord of the Rings, The Enemy, Sauron
Age: Appears 31
Gender: Male
Species: Ainur (Maiar)
Date of Birth: Time immemorial, before Arda
Place of Birth: The Halls of Eru Iluvatar
Friends/Allies: Morgoth, Norton
Enemies: Willow, Ayanna Kaktas, all free peoples.
Physical Appearance: Byron is a fairly average man with brown hair and grey-blue eyes. He normally has the start of a beard which he keeps trimmed back but not completely shaven, and he stands at six feet, six inches, though he looks shorter than this. He usually wears a grey suit with a black undershirt and a red tie, and he always has a gold ring on his left hand.
When Byron was slain by Ayanna, his true form as a Maiar was revealed. His spirit is potent and quite visible, taking the form of a silhouette of a man wreathed in smoke and fire. He possesses more terrible forms that he can take, but his true form is this spirit of fire and shadow.
Personality: Sauron is calculating, cold, and wholly, truly evil. He compelled by a need for order, twisted into a drive for total and complete domination over all things. He can be cruel and manipulative, quite capable of getting what he wants from others through deceit, coercion, bribery, and intimidation. He is patient as only an immortal being can be, but can be arrogant and rushed into poor decisions by the actions of others.
Special Abilities:
Ainur: As one of the Ainur, created by Eru Iluvatar himself, Mairon is a being of spirit and energy. He is capable of shaping his soul into physical material, most often by crafting a body for himself to inhabit the mortal world, but also to create forces that shape and alter the world around him or to directly create objects for his immediate use. As a Maiar, Mairon studied and honed his abilities first under Aulë, the Smith and Father of Dwarves. Later, he learned from and served under Melkor, the Morgoth, Black Enemy of The World.
Physical forms: Mairon often takes a fair form to comingle with mortals and weave his schemes. In the past he was Annatar, Elvish Lord of Gifts, and on Earth he took the name Byron, the industrialist. In combat, he takes a terrible visage of a being clad in black armour, wielding a mace or warhammer like his master Melkor before him. He has also taken the form of a werewolf, the greatest of wolves, or as a winged beast referred to as a vampire by the people of middle earth. Though he does not need a physical form to do combat with others, it protects his true essence from things that could diminish it.
Teachings of Aulë: Mairon learned the craft of Smithing from Aulë, how to change ores to refined metals and how to shape those metals however he wished. He learned how to pour his own essence into the items he created, to empower them and grant them power and properties beyond their base construction. He specialized in both Weaponsmithing, though this was honed under the tutelage of another, and Ringcraft, the art of forging rings with his will in them.
Teachings of Morgoth: Under Melkor, who marred Arda, Sauron learned to channel his energy destructively. He learned how to cast heat and fire from his being, how to dim light and spread shadows, and how to bring forth ruinous powers like tremors in the earth or thunder from the sky. He learned how to twist and corrupt others, how to breed orcs from elves and create monstrosities like trolls, uruks and fell beasts, though he lacks the stock and facilities to create such creatures on Earth. Sauron mastered his weaponcrafting and mastery of his forms under Morgoth, learning how to wield terrible power and instantly summon implements of destruction.
Strengths:
-Capable of incredible feats of power
-Intelligent and patient, able to learn and adapt to situations over time
-Potentially immortal unless actively destroyed by others
Weaknesses:
-Sauron routinely underestimates his opponents and misjudges their actions and motivations. He cannot comprehend the vexatious emotions that drive mortal beings.
-Enough damage dealt to Sauron can render his soul impotent, unable to take a new form or act until he can recover his power. Potentially, he can be rendered inert and trapped as a mere shadow on the wind for millennia if enough damage is dealt to him and no force can restore him.
-Having poured so much of his essence into the creation of his One Ring, the destruction of his one ring will similarly leave him inert and incapacitated. Should his Ring to be destroyed while he is already weakened, it is most likely his essence will be extinguished forever.
Weapons:
-Favors clubbing weapons such as maces and hammers
-His Ring contains a large portion of his being; whoever wears it gains a fraction of his power, but so long as the ring exists he can always return, will always survive.
Occupation: Servant of Melkor, Lord of Mordor and Dol Gulgur
Sexuality: asexual
Relationship Status: single
Religion: Melkor worship
Politics: despotic
Likes: Fire, metal, industry, order
Dislikes: Disorder, the Ainur, failure
History:
Byron Annatar was a real rags to riches story. He was able to leverage a series of smart investments into ownership of a smelting plant. From there, he was able to expand both into mining and manufacturing, all while still tending to a lucrative stock portfolio. Though he was never able to take setbacks well, Byron was able to bounce back from any shortcomings or misfortune and become a big name in business, rising from obscurity as an orphan to one of the wealthiest men living in Kansas.
From his penthouse suite atop the tallest tower in Kansas City, Byron enjoys the luxury befitting someone who's come as far as him. However, it's hard to say if a mere mortal like himself is ready for things on a multiversal scale. When he encountered Ayanna Kaktas, he shed his disguise when she shot him with both her Beretta and Desert Eagle. Now, the Enemy of humanity was loose on the world. His chauffer, Norton, was there too.
