Tori of course knew nothing about the Pound even in her own world. Let alone in Jadeite's. That said she did know about converting money into the currency of that country so Gaia thought she could offer some aid for Jadeite in this case.
"You should be able to just go to any bank in town and get your money converted into the dollar. That way clerks in the future won't give you such a hard time."
Gaia offered him a smile. She wasn't an expert on exchanging money but it should be that simple. That way at least he'd have some cash to get a hotel room or something while he was stuck here examining the portals. After all money did make the world go round.

The wheels are turning again. There of course were questions on what the local banks would make of the Echo. Or rather the exchange rate would be reasonable or something out of the Khanate. Still, the idea serves as a heading. "True enough that money greases all wheels. Part of why it's a concern..." Another thought has Jadeite trail off. A plan B starting to form that perhaps selling off some Neathy novelties would pass as another form of 'currency exchange'. Yet more for the moment. "Perhaps for now I'll see about that bank. We likely shouldn't linger all that longer here anyway... What with this conversation technically being a matter of shadowy loitering." The last sentence is whispered in the tone of someone playfully conspiring. Not hidden from Gaia in her close proximity, yet feasibly missed by those further away.
Regardless, Jadeite begins packing away his currency examples. Internal compartments of the briefcase sliding to intercept the items... and moving all the while like something out of an M. C. Escher painting. Eventually the internals slide into something resembling proper physics, and Jadeite makes doubly sure the briefcase's triplet locks are back into place. Then almost as an afterthought. "Unless either of you fine young ladies have remaining questions before I'm occupied for some time." A final courtesy. Considering it'd likely be longer still before he could contact June independently... Further conversation is well worth 'risking'.

Both Gaia and June smiled kindly at Jadeite as he started packing away his items and wanted to move on. Gaia standing right next to him and June from the computer monitor.
"No questions here. How about you, June?"
"None at all."
"Okay, I'm powering down."
Tori ended the connection they had with June and turned the computer off. She then looked over to Jadeite and smiled again. She wished him all the best in the world and hoped that he would be able to get some currency and learn more about the portals so he could return home. That was all any of these otherworlders wanted at the end of the day. To return home.
"Hope to see you around."
And with that said Gaia took her leave.

Jadeite scoots himself back to give Gaia a better reach toward the computer as she approaches it... and watches her using the device like a hawk. It was far easier to operate a device than anything else, so why not get a little head start on that study? The keyboard seemed simple enough. And then everything was de-activated. Gears change back toward leaving. Jadeite returns the suitcase to the clasp for it at the small of his back. A moment longer is spent straightening up and stretching to limber back up for the window. A little arms over head, a brief stretch of each leg in a half crouch. All performed as he responds to Gaia. "Thank you again for your guidance thusfar. I imagine we'll drift toward one another soon enough." 'Fate' or whatever it could truly be defined as was funny like that.
Jadeite vacates the building shortly after Gaia. Being careful to reset the window they'd 'borrowed' back to it's original position before trotting off. Perhaps this wasn't so different from establishing operations in a foreign country back home. There was always the bother with currency, the vexation of new lodgings... At least nobody was actively trying to murder him in the process this time. Jadeite mulls that over as he slips back into the city...
(I'd say this thread is about done.)
