Gaia had to agree. She wouldn't wanted to have confirmed the multiverse theory by being dragged to a world that wasn't her own either, so she could only imagine what Jadeite was going through in his head. Already Tori could see the wheels turning just by looking at him. As for her questions she figured she'd get the obvious out of the way.
"Are you completely made out of stone? Like everything? Do you have organs or are they stone too? How can someone have stone organs?"
A better question would be whether or not Gaia could bend his body to her will since he's entirely made out of stone, but those were evil thoughts and Gaia would keep them to herself. Not wanting to make an enemy out of someone who could ram into her like a freight train.

Jadeite blinks a few times... Briefly pondering if this first impression of a question from biological lifeforms might be some form of universal constant. Tempting as it is to ask in turn if she's entirely made of meat... No, no, now's not the time for that jest.
"Mostly made of stone, there's some crystal in there as well. The exact ratios escape me at the moment. Organs are... relative in comparison to biological life. Clay Men don't quite have as many, we've the digestive tract the most in common. Also yes, said organs are also made of stony materials. As for how... The rampant vitality radiations of Polythreme. Now it'd be a question unto itself where to start explaining that to someone from another world..."
Start with the great mountain made of living diamond, or the King With A Hundred Hearts? Perhaps the Sea of Voices where the island dwelled? Actually it might be a better idea to move onwards somewhat before that all sets in.
"Soooo this whole portal affair. I don't suppose your world has something along the lines of The Red Science... Which is to say, making a scientific study of eldritch phenomena and-slash-or the literal laws of reality. Such sciences may be relevant expertise for this dimensional displacement fracas. Yet I've got this sneaking suspicion functional equipment likely doesn't exist in this part of the cosmos."

"What? What? And what?"
Yeah, needless to say a lot of these terms Jadeite were using might as well have been a foreign language to Tori. Tori didn't really even understand the more complicated sciences of her own world. Just the basics, so whether her world had something along those lines or not Tori would have no idea, but she might know someone who might.
"Safe answer is no, but I'm not sure. Science isn't really my forte, but my friend June might be able to answer some of those questions."
Sadly, June still lived all the way in Wyandotte County and even flying over there on a platform would take a while. But maybe she could find a computer somewhere to hook up a visual link to June's computer. Gaia didn't want to take Jadeite to her place in the chance it would blow her cover, and it would really be hard to explain to the folks why a tall clay man was standing in their living room.
"If we can find a computer somewhere I can introduce you to her."

The first barrage of 'what?'s from Gaia start a slow tilt of the head from Jadeite. Much as he had grown accustomed to confusing people... That was clearly going to escalate in this world. Jadeite's Surfacers were clueless as it was. Still, there's no sign of actual disrespect causes by this intellectual gap. It's the comment on the sciences that Jadeite first responds to.
"Funnily enough, many other scholars agree the safe answer to the Red Science is 'no'." A little chuckle afterward helps announce that comment was primarily a joke. "We are well past safe with these bloody dimensional portals however." Jadeite lets that train of thought trail off. "The term computer is new. Context would suggest it's a communication device... Ah, no, getting ahead of myself. Coming across a guide that actually exchanges dialogue sensibly is an improvement. So thank you for that." Casual, yet sincere.
Doubly sincere as being lost on multiple levels was going to be a bother. Never mind lost among a people where there was a roll of the dice on rather they'd react like they'd seen a monster. Okay sure, Jadeite was a bit odd by Clay standards. Meh, best to see how Gaia takes to that guide implication before anyone else.

Gaia readjusted her goggles and then thought about where they could go to find a working computer.
"I would take you to the library, but a crime fighter and a clay man might raise a few eyebrows. The high school should be empty right now and they have computers. A little breaking and entering never hurt anybody."
She was jesting of course, but still. Gaia stepped on her platform again and motioned for Jadeite to do the same.
"All aboard the Gaia Express."
Once Jadeite got on the platform Gaia took off and flew through the air high above the city's skyline before making it to the Metro City High School. She swooped down to the ground and then stepped off her platform. Finding a window and gently breaking it open before climbing through it. Hoping that Jadeite wouldn't have any problem squeezing through it. Then she brought him to the school's library where the computers were all ready.
"This should do the trick. Just give me a few minutes to log in."
Gaia sat at one of the computers and logged into the system. She contacted June with a text on her phone and then set up the video conference and soon June Greenaway's face would appear on the screen and Gaia smiled.
"Alright! June meet Jadeite, Jadeite June. She can tell you all you need to know about science. June, this is an otherworlder I met on patrol. His name is Jadeite. Can you help him out?"
"Help him out with what exactly?" asked June.
"Let him tell you himself."
Gaia then stepped aside and allowed Jadeite to step in front of the computer monitor.

It wouldn't be Jadeite's first experience with larceny or semi-legal loitering. Still, breaking into a school... when oh so many would rather break out... was just new enough to get another eyebrow raise. The affair of the floating platform goes more smoothly now that Jadeite is an expected passenger. With the added time to properly haul himself aboard the Gaia Express eliminating the balance issue. When sneaking paired with a weight reducing Correspondence Rune at least.
Eventually the flight was over, and things moved onto a window. The initial entry is a touch awkward, as Jadeite is built on a larger scale than most using the entrance. Yet a few slow twists and a partial handstand once halfway through resolve the matter smoothly enough. Now this computer... "Must have moved forward in time as well, this puts even the Midnight Sounders to shame." Is muttered off to the side as the video call starts.
Once it's properly his turn... Jadeite forgoes the computer's relevant seat. Those extra few feet in height still have him visible on the screen while sitting upon his knees on the floor. His right hand raises briefly to do a little wave. "Hello and thank you in advance. Cutting to the point. I am attempting to figure out if your world may have facilities and-slash-or tools relevant to a few branches of science that might prove relevant to the portal problem. The most relevant is categorized under the umbrella of 'Red Science' back home. Schools of thought, alongside the occasional half-mad raving, that deal primarily in studying and subverting universal laws. Looking to test if the portal I was so rudely accosted by might be a related phenomenon."

June blinked blankly at the sight in front of her. Tori brought her a man made completely out of stone who looked uncomfortable sitting there in the seat where the camera was situated. Talking about something relating to "Red Science" which intrigued June a little bit as she arched an eyebrow. Glancing over to Tori in her Gaia outfit as she couldn't tell what the redhead was thinking, but knew better than to use real names in this ordeal.
"I'm afraid we don't have anything in this world categorized as 'red science' we have three main branches of science in this world. Formal science, natural science, and social science. However natural science does deal with cosmology which is a study of the universe and its origin which may be the closest thing we can go to when learning more about the portals and concept of multiverse theory."
"I told you she was smart," said Gaia.
June blushed slightly.

Jadeite doesn't pay much attention to the initial surprise June displays. That had gotten old... her response was more important anyway. Gaia had chosen what friend to address this problem to well. Yet the answer has Jadeite frown slightly. A reaction he makes a mental note to explain shortly.
"There's a scrap of a head start with multiverse theory... Yet I've my doubts the natural science category would produce the sort of tools I'd require to attempt a study into these portals. Let's just say the Red Science is picky in that regard." The last sentence is said in a casual tone and comes in rhythm with a small shrug. A worryingly blasé approach to the science of tweaking reality. "And there's another field of study that I'd like to confirm rather it exists in these parts..." While speaking, Jadeite reaches for a small suitcase strapped to the small of his back...
A particularly odd suitcase. Too small for it's intended purposes, and with several bracing strips of led forming faint vertical patterns across it's frame. Jadeite casually sets the suitcase before him, pops it open, and extracts a lead slab that must have taken up the majority of it's space. Jadeite holds the slab up to the computer, off to the left of his head. A simple wooden frame around a metal slate... with a downright bizarre rune carved into it. It almost, seems to be some ancient form of cuneiform writing with several 'letters' fused into a single symbol. Thankfully this rune is 'tame', and reading it at worst makes one's eye a tad dry. "Short version. This is a sigil from a language known as The Correspondence. Think of it as my London's version of magic. Does this look like anything your world has documented or studied? Also don't worry if trying to read it makes your eyes a tad dry or 'stingy', that's a normal side effect."

June leaned forward in her chair to look at the sigil and like Jadeite had explained her eyes started to feel stingy and she had to rub them with her fists to clear the effects. When it came to magic it was a subject that June knew very little about. She was more of a science type of girl and science mostly didn't believe in the concept of magic. Or at least hasn't acquired a theory about it just yet.
"I'm afraid I haven't seen a sigil like that before in our world, but I don't know for sure. I know that magic exists in this world, but I know very little about it."
June frowned. Upset that she couldn't shed more light for the man who was searching for answers. She could only imagine what it felt like to be pulled into a world not your own.

Jadeite lets out a long sigh. "Silver lining, lack of competition puts me in the top of that field around here." With that, Jadeite moves to return the Correspondence Plaque back to his briefcase. His attention doesn't back it's way back to June until all three clasps are clicked shut on said briefcase. In a way, Jadeite hadn't quite understood what this situation should feel like either. An odd sort of emotional jet lag had stalled that process... Likely for the better.
A few moments of thinking aloud follows. "Lack of known Correspondence also means lack of certain entities in these parts. While magic existing might open a few doors with proper wrangling said magic toward more scientific understandings... Hmmm..." Jadeite crosses his arms during this process. With the right hand of his index finger seeming to contest the current calm with how rapidly it tapped against his left elbow. "Anyway, back on track. It's going to take a moment or three to formulate another meaningful question... Sooooo, anything you'd like to ask while I mull that over?" Jadeite was, after all, a walking bundle of many things to ask about. A smart girl like June might well find a more interesting avenue down that train of thought than the usual passerby.
