The portal opened and out came Ayen Matthews falling towards the ground. However he stopped himself mid-fall and floated above the ground at the last second keeping his foot from striking the ground. He landed softly against the floor and looked up to see the portal closing soon after he had fallen out of it. He looked at it and knew he was no longer at Moon Valley Detention Center. Or even Moon Valley. He was in some kind of a park in the middle of the night with hardly anyone around.
"Where am I?"
Ayen searched around and tried to sense the minds of Naomi or MJ, knowing he couldn't sense Hotaru's mind because of being an android. Then he even tried to sense Mayor Templar or Sarah's minds, but nothing. They were nowhere to be found and he had no idea where he was. |

Someone was reaching out, and a presence called back...

whatever it was, its thoughts were quite incomprehensible, save for a carefully contained rage that smoked below the surface at all times, like coals waiting to be stoked into a blaze. Beyond those thoughts, though, came more. This mind swam with unease, surrounded by a world that felt familiar but so very different. They saw a life of struggle, of challenge, but one sought and welcomed, accompanying a small family through hardships on a journey of growth and self improvement... The mind was like that of an animal, but sharper, more profound, almost human but not. It was close, like the alien mind before and like a third that felt a mix of wonder and apprehension at the new world around it. Whoever these beings were, all of them seemed as lost as Ayen was.
